Organised by the Foundation in collaboration with the Hok Yau Club since 2023, the programme benefitted nearly 750 students and teachers, receiving positive feedback. On 11 and 12 October 2024, two study tours have brought around 250 students and teachers to visit four renowned universities in mainland cities of the Greater Bay Area: South China Normal University and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, as well as The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) and Shenzhen University.
The travel expenses for the tours were sponsored by the Foundation. Students and teachers from about 20 local secondary schools not only toured the campuses and teaching facilities but also participated in exchange sessions. Representatives from each university explained their admission policies, and current Hong Kong students studying there also shared their campus experiences. This allows participants to broaden their horizons and discover mainland universities that offer a wider range of subjects with lower admission requirements for Hong Kong students.
The study tour aims to provide students with more information about studying in mainland China, helping them plan their future paths and enhancing their understanding of the Greater Bay Area's development.
