With no prior experience in biotechnology, Elvis was driven by his passion for entrepreneurship and a strong desire to tackle social issues. He discovered that black soldier flies offer a safe and eco-friendly solution for processing food waste efficiently. Currently, his facility processes approximately 200 tonnes of waste daily, converting it into organic fertilizers and even food additives through the use of these flies, thus promoting a green circular economy.
Elvis's team has recently relocated to the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Hub. There, they plan to establish an automated, industrial-scale breeding facility to further expand their operations, taking full advantage of the resources and opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. Looking ahead, Elvis is also committed to addressing the global food crisis by exploring the use of insects to produce new types of protein in the future.
