To encourage local youth to engage in sports, the Foundation sponsored the programme organised by Social Ventures Hong Kong. This initiative aimed to enhance the physical and mental well-being of teenagers and foster community cohesion through sports.
The programme was split into two groups: canoeing and long-distance running. The canoeing group, led by the Hong Kong Playground Association - Ocean Explorer and the Hong Kong China Canoe Union, provided a three-day, 18-hour training course for 16 students from Secondary 2 to Secondary 5. These students showed great enthusiasm for learning this dynamic sport.
The long-distance running group was trained by professional coaches from the RunOurCity Foundation, offering a 9-hour course for 30 young participants. Despite the rigorous training, participants noted significant improvements in their willpower and positive mindset, and they were pleased to see each other’s growth.
