Coffee is not only a refreshing beverage but also a medium for cultural exchange. Recognising this, the Foundation sponsored the 9+2 Coffee Fest, organised by the Young DAB, Councillor Angel Chong's office, and the Luen Heep Social Service. The Fest aimed to leverage coffee culture, which appeals to young people, to promote interaction among cities and youth in the Greater Bay Area.
The 9+2 Coffee Fest took place from March 14 to 16, 2025, at Tseung Kwan O Waterfront Park. The opening ceremony was held on March 15, featuring distinguished guests such as Mr. Tang Ping-keung, Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong SAR Government; Mr. Chan Pak-li, Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; Mr. Li Ya-dong, Assistant General Manager of China Merchants Group; Dr. Hu Zhang-hong, CEO of Greater Bay Area Homeland Investments Limited; and Mr. Gary Chan, Chairman of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Legislative Council Member.
The event attracted about sixty coffee businesses and brands from the Greater Bay Area and other mainland cities, offering a diverse range of coffee and beverages, including unique Chinese-flavored coffees like century egg and Moutai. Additionally, the Fest recruited over 100 student volunteers from twelve secondary schools in the Sai Kung District. The event also featured busking performances, information booths from government departments, and numerous photo opportunities, drawing over ten thousand visitors to show their support.
