Co-organised by the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation and TVB “Top Sales 2 Live Streaming Academy” Provides Professional Training to Young People by Star Streamers from TVB and the Mainland

(26th November, 2021. HK) The prevalence of online shopping has created selling through live streaming into a new trend of e-commerce. In order to train Hong Kong youths to become a new generation of live streaming marketing practitioners, the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation (abbreviated as Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation) and Television Broadcasts Limited (abbreviated as TVB) co-organise the “Top Sales 2 Live Streaming Academy” (識貨2直播營銷學堂) which provides free live streaming marketing training courses to Hong Kong youths aged 18 to 35. Participants will have the opportunity to join the internship in the Guangzhou live streaming base. After six months of professional training, practice and assessment, outstanding students will be recruited to work in TVB for one year to explore further opportunities in the Greater Bay Area. The course is trained by professional coaches and star streamers in the industry including elites from Yowant Education, a subsidiary of Hangzhou Yowant Network Company Limited, one of the leading e-commerce training institutions in Mainland China, which compiles the course content appropriate for e-commerce industry in Hong Kong.  Mr Wong Cho Lam, Chief Creative Officer of Television Broadcasts Limited will also share his live streaming marketing experience with the participants.

 

To commemorate this special occasion, Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation and TVB hold the kick-off ceremony at YO PLACE of the Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation today (26th November). Mr. Yang Bin, Chief Executive Officer and Ms Dionne Kung, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation, Mr Wong Cho Lam, Chief Creative Officer of Television Broadcasts Limited and Mr Danny Shum, President of the TVB e-Commerce Business Group officiated the ceremony. Artist streamers cum coaches including Ms Ruth Tsang, Mr Derek Wong, Ms Yuri Wong, together with audit students Ms Crystal Fung, Mr Arnold Kwok and Ms Maggie Wong attended and showed support to participants.

 

Mr Daryl Ng, Chairman of Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation said, “There is a huge market for live streaming e-commerce in the Mainland with comprehensive sales platforms and channels. Streamers comprises online influencers, celebrities as well as businessmen, illustrating the abundant possibilities of e-commerce. The Academy is planned and trained by TVB together with the leading corporation in the industry in the Mainland, the Hangzhou Yowant Network Company Limited. Participants also have the opportunity to join the internship in the Guangzhou live streaming base. I believe the participants will greatly benefit from this Academy. I hope that they will seize this opportunity to become the new force in the live streaming e-commerce.”

 

“Top Sales 2 Live Streaming Academy” had launched open recruitment earlier and received overwhelming response, 120 applicants were shortlisted after screening. This is a comprehensive course to train participants to understand the responsibilities of different roles including streamer, assistant streamer, administrator, procurement assistant etc. so that they can master the skills in live streaming e-commerce. The course will be taught by Deputy CEO cum top trainer Zixia (子夏), as well as star coach and streamer Yu Jizji (余機智) of Yowant Education. Besides, star streamers from TVB including Ms Ruth Tsang, Mr Derek Wong, Ms Yuri Wong and some more will share the skills and their experiences. The TVB e-Commerce Business Team will introduce the development of e-commerce in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas, the online shopping trend as well as the connection between e-commerce and live streaming.

 

Mr Wong Cho Lam said, “Live streaming e-commerce is a fast-growing global business while the development of selling through live streaming and e-commerce in the Mainland has been at the forefront of the world. Streamers introduce goods to the audience and guide them to shop. It is an interactive, instant and entertaining process. With the sales volume easily reaches over RMB 10 million to 100 million in the huge Mainland market, Live Streaming Academy opens the door for a bright career, creating boundless opportunities for young people in Hong Kong.”

 

The course consists of eight sessions in two phases. The first two sessions allow 120 shortlisted participants to understand comprehensively the latest trend of live streaming and e-commerce development as well as the overall scope and concept of the industry. 50 participants will then be selected to enter the phase 2 course consisting of 6 sessions, which will train them to understand comprehensively the responsibilities of different roles in the live streaming e-commerce. Outstanding participants will have the opportunity to join the production of “Top Sales 2”, and the internship at TVB live streaming center and the Guangzhou live streaming base, or even start up a live streaming e-commerce business of their own.

 

This is the first live streaming marketing course which spans from Hong Kong to Mainland China with theory and practice combined. The course supported young people who are interested in joining the industry or are interested in transforming the traditional sales channel into live streaming e-commerce platforms to realise their career dreams.
