(Hong Kong, 21 August 2021) Dubbing contest and star reality show “Dub of War” had been highly popular, with the performances of star contestants well received and intensely discussed among audiences and netizens. The show revealed the professional and rarely-known aspects of dubbing to the audiences. In view of this, Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation (abbreviated as Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation), with the mission of “For Our Youth, For Our Future”, has joined forces with Television Broadcasting Limited (abbreviated as TVB), which has been committed to professional talent training in the performing arts industry, to co-organize “Dubbing Academy”. The programme provides a free professional dubbing experiential course to youth aged 16-30. Thoughtfully-designed with a series of diverse training materials, young people interested in becoming a dubbing artist can realize their dreams step by step by receiving progressive training on voice-acting skills, experiencing dubbing works and acquiring industry knowledge.
To commemorate this special occasion, Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation and TVB hosted the launch ceremony of “Dubbing Academy” at YO PLACE of Greater Bay Area Youth Foundation today (August 21), which was graced by Mr. Kenneth FOK, Executive Vice Chairman of Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, and Miss Virginia LOK, Assistant General Manager (Talent Management and Development) of TVB. We believe that the Greater Bay Area will offer various development opportunities in the dubbing industry in the future.”

A number of dubbing professionals and artists previously participated in “Dub of War” serve as tutors to provide a series of professional training and share valuable experiences. The first two sessions allow 100 shortlisted participants to understand and learn about the basics of dubbing. 20 participants with outstanding performances will enter the advanced stage with 8 sessions. The top 3 participants with the best performances will have the chance to join professional dubbing training courses by TVB.
