To foster patriotism and a deep affection for Hong Kong among young people, the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation ("The Foundation") is proud to present the "Loving Homeland Miniature Art Show". This exhibition marks the dual celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China and the 5th Anniversary of the Foundation. The event will take place at the City Gallery in Central from September 20 to October 5, 2024, with the opening ceremony on September 19. The ceremony was officiated by Mr CHEUK Wing-hing, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Ms WAN Ning, Deputy Director General of the Youth Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Clarence LEUNG, Under Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr CHUNG Man-kit, Director of the Planning Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mr Daryl NG, Chairman of the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, and Dr HU Zhanghong, CEO of Greater Bay Area Homeland Investments Limited.

The Art Show Skillfully Blends Craftsmanship with Cutting-Edge Technology to Foster Patriotism and Affection for Hong Kong

The "Loving Homeland Miniature Art Show" showcases 42 meticulously crafted art pieces that seamlessly integrate traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge technology. Notable works include "Launch of Shenzhou-18", which vividly captures the historical journey of the Shenzhou-18 spacecraft to the Tiangong Space Station, symbolising a significant national achievement. Another highlight is the "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge", which is celebrated as a marvel of national engineering. The exhibition also features iconic landmarks from the Greater Bay Area, such as Guangzhou's "Canton Tower" — the tallest in the nation;Macao's "The Ruins of St. Paul’s”, a UNESCO World Heritage site; and Shenzhen's "China Resources Tower" along with Hong Kong's "Victoria Harbour”, complete with dazzling fireworks. Additionally, the exhibition spotlights the beloved giant panda Ying Ying and her newborn twin cubs, as well as award-winning athletes from the Paris Olympics—CHEUNG Ka-long, Vivian KONG Man-wai, and Siobhan Haughey—capturing their triumphant moments. Through this exhibition, the Foundation aims to enhance public understanding of national development, promote appreciation for the history and modernity of Hong Kong, and deepen a sense of patriotism among viewers.

Mr CHEUK Wing-hing, Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of the HKSAR, stated that this exhibition, titled "Loving Homeland ", features over 40 exquisite miniature art pieces to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. This event also commemorates the important milestone of the 5th anniversary of the establishment of the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation. Mr CHEUK expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Foundation for its efforts and contributions to youth development over the past five years. He emphasised the Foundation's role in supporting the diverse growth of young people while promoting patriotism and enhancing their sense of national identity. He highlighted that youth are the future and backbone of society, serving as a vital force in contributing to the country and building Hong Kong. He looks forward to continued collaboration with the Foundation to promote the physical and mental well-being and diversified development of young people, fostering their diversified development and nurturing them to become future leaders who value Hong Kong, cherish our country, and have a global perspective.

During his welcome speech, Mr Daryl NG, Chairman of the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation, said, "Since the Foundation's inception five years ago, we have organised and sponsored over 400 projects in diverse areas, including technological innovation, educational development, and cultural exchange, benefiting more than 172,000 young people in Hong Kong. Looking ahead, the Foundation will continue to motivate Hong Kong's youth to actively integrate into national development, support them to broaden their international perspectives, and equip themselves, contributing to the sustainable development of both the country and Hong Kong."Furthermore, several artworks incorporate elements of the National Day celebrations, including the expansive art piece "Victoria Harbour," which features more than forty iconic buildings along the harbour, such as the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and the Central Government Office. This piece has been enhanced with dazzling computer-generated simulations of National Day fireworks. Additionally, flags will be displayed along Lee Tung Avenue to create a festive atmosphere. The remaining thirty-plus works prominently highlight the iconic architecture and cultural essence of Hong Kong, from its historical roots to the present day.

The exhibition, supported by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and hosted at the City Gallery of the Planning Department, is curated by the Joyful Miniature Association. Throughout the event, the Foundation will host visits for primary and secondary students. Later this year, the exhibition is scheduled to tour other mainland cities.
