“Café I Do” Musical - Open Dress Rehearsal

Legendary Cantopop star Leslie Cheung remains a beloved figure among many in Hong Kong, his body of work symbolising an entire era. In an effort to promote local culture, the Foundation sponsored the open rehearsal of the musical "Café I Do". Celebrating Cheung's artistry, this musical was staged at the Xiqu Centre in the West Kowloon Cultural District from August 16 to 25. It featured a talented ensemble of local singers, actors, dancers, and musicians.

On the day of the event, the Foundation enabled approximately 600 students from local underprivileged families and youth organisation members to attend the open rehearsal. Following the performance, an exclusive discussion session took place, where the creative team and select cast members explored the show’s themes, characters, musical elements, and the stories behind the production. Participants actively engaged with questions, further enhancing their understanding of the local musical theater production process.
