On 9 September 2019, we were honoured to have Mrs Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), attend our Foundation’s first Council Committee luncheon. Also present were Mr Chen Dong, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, and Mr Daryl Ng, Chairman of our Foundation.
During Mr Ng’s update on the work of the Foundation, he said, “This year, as we witness the announcement of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, we also celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The Foundation is honoured to be part of the development of the Greater Bay Area and reaffirms its commitment to supporting the country and promoting a better understanding of the Greater Bay Area among young people.
“The Greater Bay Area development will bring huge opportunities for Hong Kong and cities in this region to complement one another,” Mr Ng added. “This will help Hong Kong industries to grow further, promote re-industrialisation and support Hong Kong’s development into an international innovation hub. We look forward to working together to unleash the unique advantages of ‘one country, two systems’ and realise our vision of ‘For Our Youth, For Our Future’.”
The Foundation was established with the aim of harnessing the power of organisations across all sectors to support the personal and professional development of Hong Kong youth in the Greater Bay Area. We have also formed a board comprising more than 90 highly esteemed members from these organisations.
