Sports play a vital role in fostering the physical and mental well-being of young people and have long been one of the Foundation’s key focus areas. In recent years, pickleball—an emerging sport that has rapidly gained global popularity—has attracted widespread attention. Combining elements of table tennis, tennis, and badminton, pickleball features simple rules and a fast-paced, engaging style of play. It is easy to learn yet highly enjoyable, making it an ideal sport for promotion in a school setting.
In light of this, the Foundation is organising the ‘Pickleball Training Programme and Inter-school Tournament’ this year, with Vivere Sky Group Social Enterprise as the co-organiser. Through professional coaching and structured training, the programme aims to cultivate students’ interest in sports, foster positive thinking and healthy lifestyle habits, and enhance their physical coordination, concentration, and teamwork skills.
Another key component of the programme is an inter-school competition held in Sai Sha, where participating school teams will have the opportunity to showcase their learning outcomes. Through this competitive platform, students can build self-confidence and gain a strong sense of achievement.
